We had an absolutely amazing holiday in Cape Town this past week and got to experience some new markets that have just opened. One being this market which is situated in the luxurious Sea Point, Cape Town and very easy to find when driving down the main road. It is opened 7- days a week from 10am- 9pm in winter and 10am-10pm in summer. The retailers close earlier around 6pm, so if you would like to do some shopping, do get there earlier.

There are about 25 different food stalls which include Asian cuisine, sushi platters, fresh produce at "Beetbox Fruit and Veg", authentic Zimbabwean food from "Chef Phil" , and not forgetting the fresh oysters to enjoy with some bubbly at "Mussel Monger & Oyster Bar". There are 45 designer retail stores which have great gifts to brighten up anyone's day.  "African Image" have beautiful African crafts or ladies why not get dressed up with some beads and glitter at "Just a Rumour". Support Proudly South African clothing stores when looking for something unique and different.

Ngwenya Country Market is situated in Muldersdrift on the west of Johannesburg, Gauteng. The market is open from 09:00- 16:00 on the first Sunday of the month and is dog-friendly.

This is a family market with a variety of activities for the children while the adults enjoy and relax at Gilroy's which has a rich history of craft beer making. Children activities include a Jungle Gym, T-shirt painting and Go-Karting. The selection of foods are unique in relation to other markets. If Organic is your thing, then this is the perfect market for you! It's open every Thursday and Saturday from 09:00-15:00 and certain public holidays. Entrance is free. This market is located in Bryanston just off the main road, 40 Culross Road, Johannesburg. 

The stalls are situated in a relaxed atmosphere where country music plays out in the background. There's everything organic from fresh produce products, an abundance of health and wellness stalls, clothing, kids toys, arts and craft, not to forget the beautiful outdoor plants and decor. 

Grab a bite at the Deli or Bakery or a Dosa at Meera's, while you meander around the market. 

One great aspect that we found was the services offered at the market. You could learn to craft crystal and glass repairs at Maria Cholewka or enjoy a therapeutic ancient oriental massage by Lizzie at Shiatsu. The market also offers a free shuttle service from selected Sandton Hotels and Bryanston Organic & Natural Market and Liliesleaf between 09:00-16:00, which is great if you traveling or just feel like a day off from the crazy Johannesburg buzz.

Our little Yorkie absolutely enjoyed himself and had fun meeting other dogs too.

If you looking for a place to kick your shoes off and listen to country music....this market is definitely for you. The market is open every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 10:00-15:00. It is located at the exquisite Cedar Lodge in Krugersdorp, West Rand

The variety of foods are spectacular and is catered for every palate, from a crispy corndog to a delicious smoked eisbain you could not resist. The art and craft section encompasses handmade authentic work that any bystander would appreciate. 

The Cedar Lodge is aesthetically pleasing while you soak up the sun along with a craft beer or cooler of your choice .

Dogs are allowed, which makes it all the merrier for a Sunday afternoon.

The Weekend Market is new on the scene. The launch took place the 1st April 2017 and is open every Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays. It is situated at the corner of Nasrec and Rifle Range road, Ridgeway @Uncle Charlie's, 09:00-17:00. 

There are on average, 130 stalls every weekend and heaps of entertainment for the children which include: go-carting, water activities and face painting. This is definitely a market for the family.

While the kids are entertained, why not relax and enjoy a craft beer or cocktail in the sun. There is a DJ on the decks spinning some cool tunes with live singing and acrobatic acts in between. 

Entrance is free and secure parking is available within walking distance.

The Market Shed is situated at 1 Fox Street just off Alexander Street in Ferreirastown, Johannesburg. It shares this venue with The Good Luck Bar and Mad Giant Brewery. A great excuse to spend all day here.

The market is open all weekend from 12h00-17h000 on Fridays and from 10h00-16h00 on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. On the last Friday of every month, come enjoy Fox Night  with some live entertainment and chill out vibes from 12h00-22h00. A perfect way to start your weekend. Entrance to the market is free. Don't be worried about parking as there is ample designated parking to the market but also additional parking in walking distance from the market which is pretty safe.

There are a variety of art and clothing stalls for those who like to shop. Food dishes range from seafood cuisine, Indian dishes and your usual burger and fries. The payment methods available make it easy to purchase, pay and move on through to the next stalls swiftly.
